Why Math Facts?
In this article you will learn why math facts are so important to students.

These are the building blocks for all math skills. The easier they are for students, the more they can focus their thinking on complex problems rather than worrying about a simple calculation.
TouchPoint Math
In Learning Support we try to graduate students from finger counting by teaching them TouchPoints. That is, to count the points on numbers when adding and subtracting.
​
Once they have that down, we teach them to "skip count" using those same touch points, until they have their math facts memorized.
